Following pickup from your hotel, depart from Tulum and make the journey south to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. After roughly 30ish minutes of driving down the Boca Paila Peninsula, stop to board your tour boat and continue the trip by water. Explore Boca Paila Lagoon while your guide tells you about the ecology and history of the area. Next, move towards by boat to Ascension Bay and visit resident colonies of nesting birds (depending on nesting season). Your guide tells you about the ecological importance of mangroves and takes you to find dolphins and sea turtles. Travel to Punta Allen for a Caribbean lunch and enjoy some free time. Then, head back to Tulum, and get dropped off at your hotel right around time for an early dinner.
